Sightseeing Tour to Snaefellsnes Peninsula in West Iceland

Journey to the Center of the Earth tour takes you to Snæfellsnes Peninsula, a world of diversity, comprising many of Iceland’s unique features on one peninsula. It is a legendary area of magic and beauty, immortalized in Jules Verne’s Journey to the Centre of the Earth.

The tour begins with collection from your hotel in Reykjavík and progress west towards Snæfellsnes Peninsula, following a scenic route of dramatic landscapes. We stop at a black sand beach by Ytri-Tunga, visit to the idyllic Arnarstapi village and decent into Vatnshellir Cave, a lava cave full of stalactites and stalagmites and the starting point of Jules Verne’s adventure. From there we visit Djúpalónssandur beach and Berserkjahraun Lava Field, with a stop in Grundarfjörður Village, with it’s iconic Kirkjufell Mountain.
