On our Private Great Icelandic Waterfalls Tour we visit seven magnificent waterfalls in North Iceland. You get the chance to take your time by each and everyone and control the pace. Your private tour guide will help you select the best location for photographing the waterfalls and capture the raw power of flowing glacial water.
On the first part of the tour we focus on Skjálfandafljót River, flowing from Vatnajökull Glacier through barren deserts and canyons. We visit three waterfalls, the most famous is Goðafoss Waterfall due to it’s legend and location, just a few meters of the Ring Road. The other two Aldeyjarfoss and Hrafnabjargafoss are no less impressive, even more so due to there exclusiveness. Close by is Ullarfoss, in Svartá River, a spring water river flowing into Skjálfandafljót River in Bárðardalur Valley. The only non glacial waterfall in the tour.
The second part of the tour is spent by Jökulsá á Fjöllum Glacial River. Second longest river in Iceland, flowing 206 km from it’s source in Vatnajökull Glacier to the ocean in Öxarfjörður Fjord. We visit three watefalls in Jökulsá, which together form the majestic Jökulsárgljúfur Canyon. The stop starts with Selfoss, the first in the row of three forming the canyon. Then Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe and ending with Hafragilsfoss. From Hafragilfoss you will have a picturesque view of the canyon in all it’s glory.
The Great Icelandic Waterfalls Tour is unique way to witness the raw power of nature, and how water and weather have formed nature through the ages.
