The Lake Mývatn area is by many considered the most beautiful and diverse place in Iceland. This rural area is calmer and more easygoing than the larger towns, and you can be sure to find the comfort and tranquillity you need. It is also in the driest part of Iceland and therefore has the least cloud coverage which is a positive factor when searching for the Northern Lights. On this 6 Day winter short break we offer four fabulous day tours, including a exclusive caving tour to Lofthellir Ice Cave and a Super Jeep tour to Dettifoss Waterfall. Also included are domestic flight in Iceland and of course all accommodation.
You can select between Budget, Comfort or Superior accommodation options when booking this break. More information on these options can be found here:
You can add pick-up from KEF INTL Airport upon arrival to Iceland for your Short Break. We also offer a drop-off to the Airport at the end of your journey. Simply add it as an extra when finalizing your booking here below. We offer a comfortable minibus pick-up that brings you directly to your drop-off location.
Same as above but as a private pick-up, giving you time and space for a worry free commute at the start and end of your journey. Please contact Saga Travel sales team for further information and booking.
The short break starts with a scenic 45 minute domestic flight across Iceland to the beautiful town of Akureyri. A Saga Travel staff member will meet you at the Akureyri Domestic Airport and take you on a short meet & greet city tour. Later in the evening your guide will pick you up and drive out to the countryside or up to the mountains, away from electric glow and city sounds. You will be able to enjoy the beautiful night sky at the best possible situation, of course depending on weather.
